Student Recognition Celebration

The School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering will host the Class of 2018 Student Recognition Celebrations. The Student Recognition Celebrations will feature remarks from key administrators from the School. Following the Celebration, a reception with light refreshments will be held in the adjoining Solarium.

Graduate Student (Master’s and Ph.D.)

Thursday, May 3, 2018 Solarium and Alumni Hall, Indiana Memorial Union
10– 11 a.m. Recognition of Master’s and Ph.D. Graduates
11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Reception with light appetizers and refreshments
or
3 – 4 p.m. Recognition of Master's and Ph.D. Graduates

Invitations: Graduates will receive an electronic invitation after spring break
RSVPs: Required by graduating student
Attire: Business professional required. Graduates are welcome to wear their cap and gown to the celebration, but it is not required.

Reservations

Reservations are required for the SICE Student Recognition Celebration. Graduates will receive an electronic invitation after spring break.

Masters and Ph.D. Graduate Student Tickets

Graduates and guests may attend for free, but tickets are required for entry to the event. Each graduate will be issued a maximum of five (5) tickets: one for themselves, plus up to four guests. Students may only attend one ceremony and will not be issued tickets for both. School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering will not issue any extra tickets to students or family members.

Ticket Distribution Schedule

Tickets will be distributed at the east entrance of Luddy Hall. Students will need to present their student ID card and reservation confirmation email when picking up tickets.

  • Monday, April 16th from 10:00a.m – 2:00p.m.
  • Tuesday, April 17th from 10:00a.m. – 2:00p.m.
  • Wednesday, April 18th from 10:00a.m. – 2:00p.m.
  • Thursday, April 19th from 10:00a.m. – 2:00p.m.
  • Monday, April 24th from 10:00a.m – 2:00p.m.

Location

Alumni Hall and the Solarium are located on the west end of the first floor of the Indiana Memorial Union.

Attire

Students are expected to dress business professional. You are welcome to wear your cap and gown, but it is not required.

Traveling

When traveling to Bloomington please allow plenty of time due to road construction on SR 37. For more information on the construction, visit the I-69 construction page.

Directions and Parking to Indiana Memorial Union

Find directions to the Indiana Memorial Union.

Parking will be offered for a discounted rate. Discounted rates are $1.00 per half hour Monday-Friday 7 a.m.-midnight; $0.75 per half hour Saturday-Sunday 7 a.m.-midnight. The daily maximum is $12 per car in lots 1 and 2, and may be paid with cash or check. Debit/credit cards are not accepted. You may pick up a discounted parking voucher at registration on the day of the event.

Commencement Ceremony

Indiana University’s Spring Commencement will be held in two sessions. The Graduate Commencement Ceremony will be held on Friday, May 4, 2018  in Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall, 1001 E. 17th Street in Bloomington.

On Saturday, May 5, 2018, the Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony will be held in Memorial Stadium, 1001 E. 17th Street in Bloomington.
